Again he entered the synagogue, and a man was there who had a withered hand. And they watched him, to see whether he would heal him on the sabbath, so that they might accuse him.
And he said to the man who had the withered hand, "Come here." And he said to them, "Is it lawful on the sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?" But they were silent. And he looked around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, and said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out, and his hand was restored.
The Pharisees went out, and immediately held counsel with the Hero'di-ans against him, how to destroy him (Mark 3: 1 - 6).
Reflection
How do you spend your day?
It is not the day but what you do in a day that counts!
The Lord's work performed during the sabbath was not meant to break the commandment that one should keep holy during the sabbath day but instead, He further enhanced the commandment that all days should be observed in holiness and in truth by way of doing good to others.
Whenever you work each day, think of it as your expression of love to all those who are in need of your help. This way, the heart of Jesus will surely manifest in you that would truly make your day full and complete.
Each day is meant to do good and save lives!
Prayer
Father in heaven, in the goodness and holiness of your Name, you have restored me. Your healing hands saved me and brought forth a new life in me.
Give me the grace to spend all my days in holiness and in truth by way of doing good to others. Bless all the works of my hands that they may all be fruitful and productive for the praise and glory of your Name.
Grant this through Jesus Christ your Son, my Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with you now and forever. Amen.
